She & Him collabs with Brian Wilson—and we’re thoroughly obsessed

Quick music lesson: Not only did Brian Wilson ring-lead the Beach Boys, he’s the man credited with really creating that classic ‘60s surf sound — he’s also a legendary writer, producer, arranger, and performer of some of the most cherished music in pop music history. No big deal. (Kidding, really huge deal!)

Well the musical genius is back for a new generation, and has spent two full years working on his new album No Pier Pressure. The album is a treasure trove of amazing collabs including tracks with The Beach Boys, Kacey Musgraves, Nate Ruess (of fun.) andShe & Him’s Zooey Deschanel and M Ward.

Oh yes, we’re listening to She & Him and Brian Wilson all day!

The track Wilson partnered with She & Him on is called “On the Island” and it’s nostalgic, and whimsical, and we’ll be grooving to it all week. The album is set for release on April 7 (you’ll be able to procure it via Amazon or iTunes) but a few of the tracks are already available — including “On the Island.”
