Brian Austin Green confirmed his split from Megan Fox, and it’s the end of an era

After 10 years of marriage, Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox are calling it quits. Green, best known for playing David on Beverly Hills 90210, opened up about their split on his podcast …with Brian Austin Green, saying that separation is “not something you go into a marriage considering.”

“She said, ‘You know what, I realized while I was out of the country working alone, that I feel more like myself and I liked myself better during that experience,” Green explained in the May 18th episode of his podcast. “And I think that’s something that might be worth trying for me.”

Green confirmed that he and Fox, who have three children together, have been separated for several months now.

“I was upset about it, but I can’t be upset at her, and I wasn’t upset at her because she didn’t ask to feel that way,” Green said.

Rumors about their potential breakup began swirling when Fox was spotted out with her Midnight In The Switchgrass costar Machine Gun Kelly. Already confused fans only became more confused when Green posted a cryptic photo of a butterfly and caption reading, “Eventually butterflies get bored sitting on a flower for too long. They start feeling smothered. It’s a great big world and they want to experience it” to Instagram.

Green said that Fox and Kelly are “just friends at this point,” and that Kelly appears to be a “nice, genuine guy.” There is seemingly no hard feelings between the exes, despite the situation. He particularly noted that he and his estranged wife want to continue to co-parent their children.

“It’s really important to me that people don’t treat anyone like a villain or a victim in this situation,” he continued. “Neither one of us did anything to each other. She’s always been honest with me. I’ve always been honest with her.”

“We’ve had an amazing relationship. I will always love her,” Green said. “And I know she will always love me, and I know as far as a family what we have built is really cool and really special.”

“Who knows if this is the end of the journey,” Green added. “We have a lot of life left. So the paths have sort of gone in separate ways for now. They could come back together. They may not. We don’t know.”

No quarantine breakup was going to be easy. But this one is hitting especially hard.
