Lily Allen, Ellie Goulding and Lindsay Lohan speak up on Twitter about Britain’s “Brexit” vote

Yesterday, Britain made history with a vote to leave the European Union, the group of 28 countries that comprise Europe. Following the decision, the country’s prime minister, David Cameron, immediately announced his intention to step down by October, explaining that the country should be led by someone who supports the vote to leave.

Millions of Britains voted on #Brexit — 16.1 million voted to remain in the EU, while 17.4 million voted to leave, according to the New York Times — and many British celebs and American celebs living in the UK have weighed in.

Harry Potter scribe J.K. Rowling expressed her displeasure with the decision while Lily Allen took a strong stance to remain, tweeting all evening about #Brexit and encouraging other millennials to vote as she did to remain: false false false

Ellie Goulding was also gutted: false false

James Corden apologized to British youth for the #Brexit vote, sounding utterly demoralized by the decision: false

Earlier in the week, David Beckham posted on Instagram that he would be voting to remain, explaining, “We live in a vibrant and connected world where together as people we are strong.”

And last but not least, Lindsay Lohan was apparently weighing in on the #Brexit all night — but all her tweets have since been deleted, except for one retweet of Lily Allen! Fortunately, NBC’s Ronan Farrow captured at couple of Lindsay’s tweets, making a light-hearted joke about her passion for the matter.
