Sad about the “Brexit”? There’s a dating app for that

Sometimes, nothing brings people together better than existential dread. There’s a lot of that going around in the U.K. right now after its historic vote to leave the European Union. While this decision, referred to as the “Brexit,” won by majority vote, it was close. The 48% who voted to remain are now are searching for ways to deal with the outcome. Enter Remainder, an app for heartbroken Remain voters to meet and comfort each other.

Remainder functions in a similar way to the other dating apps we’re all familiar with, facilitating meet-ups between like-minded people to find love in a hopeless place. Rihanna would be proud.

We created it because all the Remain voters we know seemed so depressed,” the creators told the UK’s Metro newspaper. “Our Facebook feeds had turned into a neverending funeral service. We thought the best way of recovering must be to go out for a few drinks with someone who’s in the same boat.

Not only can those looking for comfort find it with Remainder, but now people who are looking to date don’t have to worry about being matched with someone who doesn’t share their political beliefs.

The app is now in the crowdfunding stage, and you can head over here to donate money to make it a reality. No matter how you feel about the outcome, everyone deserves to find love, or at least a shoulder to cry on — that’s something we can all agree on
