Why this photo of a woman breastfeeding at a restaurant has gone viral

Ashley Kaidel is our new “badass breastfeeding (uncovered)” hero. Last week, the mom posted a photo that has gone viral with over 119,000 shares and over 370,000 likes on Facebook. So what’s so crazy about this post that everyone just has to share? Well, nothing, actually. And that’s the point.

You would think a photo of a woman feeding a child is completely “normal” but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. As Ashley states in her caption, “I’m staring into the eyes of a woman staring at me. She is looking at me with disgust and shaking her head with judgement in an attempt to shame me and indirectly tell me without words that I am wrong and need to cover myself.”
