Breakfastarians are a thing and McDonald’s is their happy place

Have you ever been introduced to a concept and thought, “Finally. These are my people, and this is where I belong”? Because it’s happening to us right now. This just in: Being a breakfastarian is a real thing. And it’s giving a whole new meaning to the old “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” adage.

“As the ultimate lovers of breakfast, we think it should be eaten any time of day, whether it’s 6 a.m. or 6 p.m.,” writes this breakfastarian blog. We couldn’t agree more!

A recent survey uncovered breakfastarian eating preferences, and McDonald’s came out on top as the winner: 41% of those surveyed consider the Golden Arches first for their next meal.

The timing of the study is perfect, as McDonald’s is preparing to roll out all-day breakfast this fall. They’re doing so with good reason: 40% of the chain’s sales happen before 11 a.m. Soon, it will be infinitely easier for breakfastarians to get their McMuffin and McGriddle fixes on!

Other breakfastarian favorites were Subway (34%), IHOP (32%), Burger King (27%), Starbucks (26%), Denny’s (25%), Dunkin Donuts (25%), Wendy’s, KFC and Chick-fil-a.

Of course, you don’t have to eat fast food breakfast to be a breakfastarian. Being a breakfastarian means pancakes for lunch. It means cereal for dinner. And it means a big bowl of oatmeal whenever the craving strikes. Breakfastarian-ism is whatever combination of eggs, milk and bread you’re craving. It’s all about that breakfast food love!
