BRB fangirling over Quvenzhané Wallis’ adorable fashion photo shoot
When we grow up, we want to be just like Quvenzhané Wallis. Really, we do. No worries that she’s only 11 years old, she’s straight up impressive (and yes incredibly adorbable).
As if Q (can we call her Q?) couldn’t get any more rad, the T: The New York Times Style Magazine recently released photos for their holiday cover shoot featuring — and we can’t overstate how much she’s accomplished for someone so young— Academy Award nominee and actress, Quvenzhané Wallis.
Cover shoot? New York Times? We smell a fashion-icon in the making. Even at the tender age of 11, Quvenzhané is showing the world what is means to be a star on the rise.
Who can make holding a baby-goat artsy and so high-fashion at the same time? Quvenzhané can.
In case you’ve forgotten who she is, Quvenzhané was the star (and Oscar nominee) for her role as Hushpuppy in Beasts of the Southern Wild. Shebrought a delightfully commanding power to Hushpuppy, and reminded us all what it’s like to see life through the eyes of a teeny tiny girl. The movie was tragic, yet loving, and she was straight up amazing. (PS We highly recommend you see it, if you haven’t already.)
We’re also about to get a lot more Quvenzhané in our lives because she’s playing the title role in Annie coming out later this month. So. Much. Yassssss.
If you have time, make sure to check out the behind-the-scenes on-set video that shows a glimpse into the young star’s world beyond the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. What stands out in the short is how full of life the tween is. She’s still a kid! Which is one of the things we love the most about her.
Team Quvenzhané!
