Brands are dropping the letters A, B, and O from their names for a super important reason

Let’s talk about letters for a second. They’ve pretty much become an important part of our civilization. Learning to read is key in education, and of course, the written word is one of our best methods of communication. So why is it that so many brands are suddenly dropping the letters A, B, and O from their logos? It’s for a good reason, of course.

The NHS Blood and Transplant, alongside a PR agency called Engine Group, have asked these companies to participate in order to raise awareness for National Blood Week. (Get it?) Surprisingly, blood donation has actually fallen about 30% in recent years, and NHS Blood and Transplant is hoping to see those numbers climb. The campaign, which is happening all around the globe, started on August 16th and will end on August 21st.

Here are a few photos of some of the big companies and brands doing their part and joining the cause.
