Your Christmas gift is this brand new ‘Deadpool’ trailer

After much anticipation, the official Deadpool trailer is here. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, a mercenary who mutates into Deadpool after an experimental cancer treatment goes wrong. The release of these trailers is the final day of 20th Century Fox’s “12 Days of Deadpool.” For the last 12 days, teaser scenes, imagery, and casting news have been released on social media as part of the marketing strategy.

Here’s the official synopsis of the movie, via YouTube:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

There is also a Red Band version of the trailer, which is meant for restricted audiences. You may have to sign into your YouTube account to verify your age to view it. Be warned: it is a bit graphic and has strong, sassy language.

Unfortunately, it seems that there’s still no confirmation as to whether or not Hugh Jackman actually makes a cameo as Wolverine in the movie. However, the actor did tweet this image yesterday:

That seems like a pretty good indication that he shows up somewhere in the film. Since Deadpool’s character first appeared in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, we’d love some sort of easter egg featuring Jackman.

Deadpool arrives in theaters on February 12, 2016.
