We have our first look at Bran Stark on Season 6 of ‘GoT’ and OH MY GOD
Finally some information about one of the Stark boys! No, not Jon Snow. Instead, we just got our first look at the Season-5-MIA Bran Stark, who will finally make an appearance when the show picks back up in April.
We last saw Bran in Season 4. He, along with Hodor and Meera (but not Jojen, RIP) had made it to the tree from his visions, and come face-to-face with the Three-Eyed Raven, who turned out to be a guy. And that’s…. where it all ended.
During Season 4, Game of Thrones caught up with Bran’s storyline in the Song of Ice and Fire books, which meant that there was no more Bran story to tell — at the time. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner David Benioff explained, “If we pushed [Bran] forward [for Season 5] , then he’s way ahead of where the other characters are.” Not wanting to do that, they sidelined him completely.
Now for Season 6, it’s time to pick back up where we left off. It’s assumed that the Three-Eyed Raven will help Bran with his warg powers (definition: people with the ability to enter the minds of animals and perceive the world through their senses and even control their actions), but what else might happen, that’s anyone’s guess.
The actor behind Bran, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, has grown up A LOT, because puberty. When he started on the show, he was 12. Now he’s 16, and according to Entertainment Weekly, is over 6 feet tall. Also, someone gave him a haircut, because his floppy bowl-cut is gone. The times, they are a’changing (but clearly bold brows are also big in Westeros right now).
No official date has been set yet, but Bran and all our other favorites (LIKE JON?) will return to HBO in April.
