Brad Pitt just said the most mature thing about his and Angelina Jolie’s divorce

Earlier today, we learned some pretty bummer news: Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. Brangelina is no more, and OUR HEARTS ?.

The two have been officially together since 2005, and were married back in 2014, and we assumed they were in it for the long haul. Pictures of the couple — with their six precious children!! — always brought us so much joy and happiness to us. Not only did they seem like an awesome family, Brad and Angelina (Angelina, specifically) were always doing awesome things to try and help make the word a better place. Everything about these two just screamed LOVE!!

We’re not exactly sure what led to the separation between the two of them, and details about the split are few and far between (with TMZ confirming that yes, it is true, and cites “irreconcilable differences”). However, Brad just released a statement to People about the split, and our hearts are breaking all over again:

"I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids," Brad explained. "I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."

We’ll probably never know the real reasons behind the split and ultimately what led to the demise of Brangelina —and honestly, we never really need to know WHY, that’s their private life. So, we totally get Brad’s request for space, especially for the kids! Splits can be hard, and this is a super mature approach to take Brad.
