Bow Wow just announced he’s retiring from rap at age 29

We knew him back when he was Lil’ Bow Wow, so this news is pretty upsetting — rapper Bow Wow, now 29, just announced that he was going to retire from rapping. Why? Well, back in the day, he always thought that 30 was too old to keep it up as a career.
Bow Wow, known also by his real name, Shad Moss, confirmed his retirement via Twitter.

Of course, he was met with mixed reviews. Sure, while 29 seems pretty young to retire, it’s also important to know that his first album, Beware of Dog, came out in 2000 when he was only 13-years-old. So, he’s been working pretty hard for quite some time.
Also? Moss isn’t retiring from show business all together. He still has a bunch of projects that he’s working hard on — he was on CSI:Cyber prior to the show getting cancelled, and now has other shows in the works, including a late night talk show.

And in all honesty, he seems pretty humble about how far he’s made it in music. He even has a daughter now, who he’ll likely want to spend some more time with, without the pressure of going on tour.

Fans will have at least one more album to commemorate the incredible rap career of Moss. His final album will be called NYLTH, and it’s set to be produced by none other than Snoop Dogg. That definitely sounds like a fantastic way to say goodbye.
