We cannot stop listening to Bon Iver’s first songs off a new album

Bon Iver has a new album coming out on September 30th. It’s the Justin Vernon-led band’s first album in five years, and it’s called 22, A Million. But, ~great~ news — we can all listen to two songs in advance, right now: “22 (OVER S∞∞N)” and “10 d E A T h b R E a s T ⚄ ⚄,” both of which are making us want September 30th to come a whole lot faster.

The group played new music at Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival on August 12th and 13th in Eau Claire, Wisconsin — aka Vernon’s hometown. (Fun fact: Part of the album was recorded in Fall Creek, WI, at April Base Studios.)

You may remember that Bon Iver debuted two new songs last year at the festival, too.

But, back to the new songs. According to a press release announcing the new album, 22, A Million is part love letter, part final resting place of two decades of searching for self-understanding like a religion. And the inner-resolution of maybe never finding that understanding.”

Fans on Twitter are commenting on the just-released tracks, too.

First, here are the new album’s song titles:

Can’t please everyone, right?

But, tbh, there’s no real way to know until you listen for yourself, which you can do here…again…and again…and again…
