This body-positive model’s Instagram post slays New Year’s diet culture
Every year, New Year’s resolutions bring about an intense diet culture, causing many to hit the gym and crash diet in a way that isn’t necessarily healthy. To counter this, we have Megan Jayne Crabbe. She’s a self-proclaimed body-positive feminist and warrior, and she constantly proves it on Instagram with her thought-provoking, unapologetic posts about self-love and everything that goes along with it.
Case in point: Crabbe’s latest post beautifully explains how appreciating your body can lead you to be a much happier person.
"Here's to another year of belly roll appreciation, cellulite celebration, and unapologetic self love," Crabbe wrote. "I refuse to make any resolutions to shrink myself. I refuse to see my reflection as a problem that needs fixing. I refuse to spend another year at war with my body."
Yes! We absolutely love her refusal to be at war with her body, which is a place that’s really hard to escape from.
"If you didn't conquer body love in 2016, that's okay," she added. "Because I believe in you so damn much, and I hope that this year you realise how powerful you truly are, how perfect your body really is, and how WORTHY you are of self love, exactly as you are."
Self-love is truly the beginning of being happy with your body exactly the way it is.
“Here’s to leaving self hatred behind and embracing our magic in 2017 ✨”Crabbe continued. “I’ll be right here, cheering on every single one of you. And I am forever grateful to those of you who cheer for me too. Sending you all so much love! ?????”
Crabbe’s posts are so simple, yet are such huge eye-openers and make total sense.
Of course, staying active and maintaining healthy eating habits is important, but your mental well-being matters just as much.
