A ‘Blue Crush’ TV adaptation is in the works, and our hearts are swelling with happiness
What’s not to love about a group of badass girls catching waves, talking shit and showing the world that we’re strong as hell? Absolutely nothing, which is why we’re beyond pumped that a Blue Crush TV adaptation is in the works, Uproxx reports.
As kick-ass girl power movies go, Blue Crush has to be one of our all-time faves. Now more than ever, we need to see strong, empowering women represented at every turn. Needless to say, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
No word on whether we can expect to see appearances from the Blue Crush cast members, but according to Deadline, an NBC series based off the 2002 film is in development and the film’s co-writer Lizzy Weiss has already been tapped for writing and executive producing duties.
Obviously, the TV adaptation is still in its infant stages so a premiere date hasn’t been set yet. But you better believe when it does air, we’ll definitely be running to the TV to watch like:
In the meantime, we’ll keep our eyes peeled and our ears open for more exciting, crush-worthy updates.
