Today in ice cream: Blue Bell just introduced a decadent new flavor
It’s been a few months now since Blue Bell returned to shelves after a massive recall, and we’re still so excited to have the tasty treat back in our lives. But if you thought the roll-out of flavors would stop when the warm weather disappeared, we are pleased to tell you that Blue Bell is introducing a new flavor this week!
In April, a major Listeria outbreak made the creamery shut down for the first time in the 108 year history, and while we understand and appreciate the need for safety, we were pretty bummed. But in August, Blue Bell announced that they were beginning a multi-phase roll-out of their signature flavors, beginning with Classic Vanilla. Now they’ve shared the next tasty treat to join the ranks.
The company took to Instagram to share the exciting news. As of this week, stores in Texas will be selling Pistachio Almond ice cream. Major yum!
The new flavor, which comes in a minty blue Blue Bell tub, features pistachio flavored ice cream and chunks of chopped, roasted almonds.
Pistachio Almond will be joining the four flavors already on shelves, including Dutch Chocolate, Buttered Pecan, Cookies & Cream, and classic Vanilla. The company has also released The Great Divide, a tub of half Vanilla and half Dutch Chocolate ice cream. No word on what comes next from the Blue Bell factory, but we have complete faith that it will be absolutely delicious!
