This blogger just made an excellent point about the way we judge mothers

Being a mother is hard work, and not just because of sticky hands, dirty diapers, and long days. Moms also have to deal with the judgment of others, watching everything they do and determining if they’re a “good mother” based on their own standards. And this is even more of an issue with groups of moms who judge other moms for not bringing up their kids the same way they do. From not keeping the house clean enough to occasionally being on their phone while their kids are playing at the playground, there are so many “mistakes” that others are quick to highlight — all of which just make a mother’s job harder and more exhausting.

That’s exactly what Australian blogger Constance Hall highlighted in a beautiful Facebook post that has been going totally viral. Constance posted a beautiful picture of herself playing with two of her children at the beach with a caption that saluted all of the mothers who are judged for not being the “perfect mother.”

“To the woman at the park, looking at her phone, ignoring her children, I salute you,” she wrote. “For not giving into the public perception that you should be switched on, 24 hours a day.”

She also gave a nod to mothers who don’t view doing the dishes and washing as the number one priority. “I salute you. Being a good mum or wife or human does NOT mean spending eternity cleaning your house,” she wrote.
