Just to make you feel extra old, Blockbuster t-shirts are now considered “vintage”
It’s only been a few years since Blockbuster shuttered most of its U.S. retail stores (according to their website there are still a few up and running), but apparently T-shirts with the former video goliath’s logo are now considered “vintage.”View post on imgur.com
H/T to Reddit user Desertanimal who recently posted this pic with the comment “Blockbuster has made it onto vintage tees. It is finally at rest.”
Now, we have no idea where this photo was specifically taken, but after a quick search online (ahhh, the internet) we did find the same exact shirt available at J.C. Penney.
Upon further inspection, it doesn’t actually say that the shirt is considered “vintage”…
…but then it is looped into a group with other nostalgic T-shirts like “N64” and “Reptar” from Rugrats.
Now, according to eBay (because they are the resale experts in all things old and new), “The loosest meaning [of vintage] implies that the item is of a fashion that was popular in a different era.”
So, according to this logic, we guess you could indeed call Blockbuster “vintage.” But that doesn’t make us feel any less old. SIGH.
Us…right now:
