Blake Lively looks like a gothic ballerina at the “Shallows” premiere, and it’s amazing

Blake Lively has been CrUsHiNg the red carpet lately, from pulling a Cinderella, to wearing the most gorgeous waterfall dress at the Met Gala. Tonight’s The Shallows premiere was no exception — the actress showed up wearing a dress everyone’s going to be talking about until basically the end of time.
The gown is epic — from the leather corset top, to the white tulle skirt, to the dramatic sprinkling of black flowers down the dress. It’s not a typical summer dress either — it’s dark and dramatic and we LOVE IT. Lively went the simple route with accessories and makeup — she’s wearing plain black ankle strap heels, diamond earrings outlined in black, black nail polish, and a ponytail. Totally loving the smoky eye and rosy lipstick — anything bolder would take away from the magic that is Lively’s (maybe?) Black Swan-inspired gown.
Lively definitely looks a lil’ more put together than her character on The Shallows, Nancy, who’s too busy trying to fight for her life to really care about what she looks like.
In the film, the young woman goes surfing, only to get bit by a shark and witness the same shark attack and eat her buddies. The movie is being described as Lively’s Revenant — with a shark instead of a bear, of course.
The Shallows is out in theaters this Friday, June 24th.
