Blake Lively’s latest look is Cinderella after her stepsisters tore up her gown, and we stan

No matter how old we are, sometimes we just want to dress up like a Disney princess. But if you’re not into a diamond-studded tiara and giant ballgown, look no further than Blake Lively and her latest Instagram post. Her look has all the classic “princess” elements—from her signature long waves to a bold berry lip, and even sparkly shoes—but there’s no dramatic gown to be found here. In fact, Lively joked in her caption that she’s “going for ‘Cinderella post stepsisters tearing up her gown because they hate her’ chic,” and it’s the fairy tale twist we never knew we needed.

According to the credits in her post, the actress wore a black, long-sleeved MONSE dress featuring an asymmetrical hemline, letting her striped silk skirt poke out underneath. She accessorized with jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz and Jacquie Aiche, topping the look off with iridescent blue, black, and red Christian Louboutin heels (because glass slippers sound way uncomfortable anyway).

Lively’s take on an edgy Disney princess was fitting given that she and husband Ryan Reynolds stepped out for a private screening of Mary Poppins Returns in New York City on Thursday, January 10th, according to Elle.com.

The couple posed with their longtime friend, Mary Poppins herself, Emily Blunt, while at the event..but no word on whether they made it home before the stroke of midnight. Sorry, evil stepsisters, but we’d say Blake’s got this princess thing on lock.
