Bindi is following in her father’s footsteps, because the Irwins have a brand-new Animal Planet show

Bring on the tissues, because the Irwins are returning to Animal Planet for the first time in 10 years. The network announced on Wednesday that Terri, Bindi, and Robert Irwin — the family of the late great Steve Irwin — will produce a new show similar to The Crocodile Hunter.
It’s been more than 10 years since Steve Irwin passed away tragically while working with the animals he so loved, and since we all grew up with The Crocodile Hunter, we’re pretty emotional about his family’s new show.
Bindi is no stranger to television, even though this will mark her Animal Planet debut.
She had her own daytime show, Bindi, the Jungle Girl, and also racked up a Daytime Emmy as well as a series of wildlife books. Plus, she appeared on Dancing with the Stars. And obvs, we all remember Terri from her appearances on The Crocodile Hunter. Robert, meanwhile, has his own kids’ wildlife series called Wild But True. And of course the whole family supports Steve Irwin’s conservation group, Wildlife Warriors.
It’s safe to say the Irwin fam is totally qualified to take over Steve Irwin’s Animal Planet legacy, and has been doing a great job of it in the meantime.
We love that the Irwin family is so close. And so united in their mission to protect wildlife and educate people about the planet we live on! As for why we’re getting this new show now, apparently it’s just good timing.
"It seemed like a really good time, since we do so many things together as a family," according to Terri, USA Today reports.
Whatever the reason, we couldn’t be more excited to see the Irwin family in action!
