Billie Lourd’s tribute to Carrie Fisher was perfect for anyone missing their mom on Mother’s Day

If you had a tough time getting through Mother’s Day this year, you definitely weren’t alone. On the second Mother’s Day since Carrie Fisher passed away, Billie Lourd shared a heartfelt tribute on Sunday, May 13th, to remember her late mother and to reach out to anybody who had a “less than perfect Mother’s Day” this weekend.

Lourd posted the message on Instagram alongside a sweet throwback photo that shows her smiling and holding her mom in a tight hug.

"This one goes out to anyone having a less than perfect Mother’s Day today. We are not alone. Sending all my love and strength to anyone who needs it," she wrote.

Some of Lourd’s friends, including Olivia Wilde and Emma Roberts, also shared messages of support in the comments section of the pic, writing, “Love you, woman,” and “Love you Bill so so much.”

The Star Wars legend died in December 2016 after suffering a heart attack during a flight from London to Los Angeles. She was immediately hospitalized and passed away less than a week later.

Lourd’s Mother’s Day post isn’t the first tribute she’s shared since her mom’s death. Nearly one year after Fisher died, the former Scream Queens star traveled to Norway to see the Northern Lights, a trip she always wanted to make with her mom.

"My momby had an otherworldly obsession with the northern lights, but I never got to see them with her," Lourd wrote. "We journeyed to northern Norway to see if we might ‘see the heavens lift up her dark skirts and flash her dazzling privates across [our] unworthy irises.' And she did. I love you times infinity."

Happy belated Mother’s Day, Princess Leia.
