Billie Lourd’s “Star Wars” Celebration dress is an emotional tribute to mom Carrie Fisher
The three day-long Star Wars Celebration kicked off today at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Fans from all around the world are gathering to celebrate the beloved sci-fi franchise by attending a myriad of celebrity panels, screenings, and events. On today’s docket was a tribute to the late, great Carrie Fisher.
To celebrate her mom at the event, Billie Lourd wore a white bell-sleeved, Princess Leia-inspired dress and we’re feeling some major love right now. Lourd posted a photo of her Star Wars Celebration outfit on Instagram and captioned the image,
"🙏🏼🌠🙏🏼 feeling the ultimate strength of the force from all of the incredible fans at #starwarscelebration after our tribute to my #momby."
The tribute to Carrie Fisher occurred at the end of the Celebration’s 40 Years of Star Wars Panel. Star Wars creator, George Lucas, shared his love for Fisher before the heartwarming and tearjerking tribute montage played.
Lucas concluded his speech with a line that all of us can agree with. He said, "We'll all love her forever and ever."

And because she is her mother’s daughter, in that she loves to get a good laugh, Lourd also delivered her mother’s famous monologue from Star Wars: A New Hope. We’re crying both happy and sad tears, tbh.

Fans of Fisher and her late mother, Debbie Reynolds, have expressed their admiration for Billie Lourd’s strength amidst her tragic losses. The Scream Queens actress has since shared several throwback photos to her Instagram.
And with each photo, Lourd remembers the positivity and love her mother and grandmother brought to her life, and the lives of so many others.
Princess Leia will live on forever, as will Carrie Fisher. We’re sending Lourd a lot of love and commending her on being such a strong individual. The Force is certainly with her.
