Billie Lourd just posted the most beautiful throwback pic of her and mom Carrie Fisher, and we’re sending her a huge hug today
The world is still trying to get used to a reality where in which Carrie Fisher, aka, our beloved Princess Leia, is no longer with us. And as much as we’re still hurting, we can’t even begin to imagine how hard this has been for Fisher’s daughter, Scream Queens actress Billie Lourd.
And Billie Lourd just posted a beautiful throwback pic of her and her mom on her Instagram account, showing the world that she’s still drawing strength from her mother’s legacy.
The photo was taken in the back of a car, with a young Lourd cuddling up to a 30-something Fisher. The pair look utterly delighted to just be sitting next to each other, and it captures a quietly beautiful moment in life.
Billie quoted her mom, captioning the photo with, “If my life weren’t funny then it would just be true and that is unacceptable.”
She went on to write, "Finding the funny might take a while but I learned from the best and her voice will forever be in my head and in my heart"
We think this is an utterly beautiful perspective. Yes, today is difficult, and the coming weeks, months, and years will be difficult in their own ways too, but there’s probably no better way to honor Fisher’s memory than to eventually be able to find our way to laughter again.
We’re so glad to see that Billie is trying to take this message to heart, and we hope she knows that we’re sending her so much love and support today and always.
The world lost a bright and shining star when it lost Carrie Fisher, but her light continues to shine through Billie and all of us who loved her so very dearly.
