Billie Lourd Is Engaged! See Her Fiancé’s Sweet Announcement
We have some happy Friday news: Booksmart and American Horror Story star Billie Lourd is engaged! Her new fiancé, Austen Rydell, shared the news in an Instagram post today, June 26th. Not only are the pictures super sweet, but we are LOL-ing at Lourd’s response to Rydell’s proposal.
“She said YES!! (Actually she said “Duhhh”) But I guess that’s even better than yes?!?” Rydell captioned his post.
First of all, “duhhh” is just plain adorable. Second, of course Lourd would have the most chill, coolest response to “Will you marry me?” ever. When you’re the daughter of Carrie Fisher and the granddaughter of Debbie Reynolds, you just have that stuff in your genes.
Rydell added three engagement emojis to the caption, as well as celebratory emojis of hearts, fireworks, champagne, and a slot machine—maybe an impromptu Las Vegas wedding like Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas? Or maybe he’s just thinking getting hitched to Lourd makes him extra lucky, and we’d agree.
The engagement announcement also has a whole bunch of swoony pictures of the couple from their travels.
According to Us Weekly, Lourd and Rydell have been dating off-and-on for four years. They reportedly met in 2016 and reconnected after Lourd split from her ex-boyfriend and Scream Queens co-star Taylor Lautner. On Valentine’s Day this year, the Booksmart actor posted a tribute to her boyfriend Rydell with more pictures of their world travels.
“All ‘round the world you make my world go ‘round #toinfinityandbaeyond,” she captioned the post.
