Bill Murray and the 10 Best Photobombers Ever

Bill Murray’s done it again. The ubiquitous comic, known for showing up in the unlikeliest places, just crashed a random couple’s engagement photos. South Carolina wedding photographer, Raheel Gauba, caught the whole thing on camera during a photo shoot with future newlyweds Ashley Donald & Erik Rogers.

“I thought ‘Who the heck is bothering them,’” Gauba recalls. “I turn around and it’s Bill Murray with his shirt up, belly out, tapping his belly and trying to make them laugh.” Talk about a photo op.

But Bill’s not the only wise-guy out there. Here are ten of the best photobombers of all time:

10. Jennifer Lawrence

Girlfriend’s got skills. Not only is she an Oscar winner and the star of dozens of hugely successful films, she apparently is quite talented at photobombing. At this year’s Golden Globes, Taylor Swift was busy chatting with Ryan Seacrest when JLaw decided to lighten things up. “I was going to come in and push you down the stairs… I was like, ‘She’ll crack up. She would love that,’” Lawrence joked with Swift. I’m not quite sure how Taylor felt about it, but it made us all fall in love with Jennifer even more… if that’s possible.

9. Disgruntled Flower-Girl at the royal wedding

I don’t know you, young child, but you precisely summed up how most of us felt about the obscene amounts of media coverage during Will and Kate’s wedding: NO MORE, PLEASE.

8. Zach Braff

Wedding photographer Sascha Reinking was happily snapping photos for a newly married couple on the streets of New York City when she noticed all-around funny guy Zach Braff strolling down the crosswalk. When Braff noticed the couple, he turned to face the camera and flashed a wide, toothy smile which Reinking ended up tweeting later that week: “@zachbraff Sir, I think you photobombed my newlywed couple the other day in New York…. Well played.” Seriously, what is it with celebs and photobombing these types of photos? I’m about to throw my own impromptu wedding just to see if someone famous will show up.

7. Michael Cera

I don’t know what it is about Michael Cera’s facial expressions, but they’re deadly hilarious. Just picturing this particular photobomb makes me laugh so hard that I can’t find my keyboard. The best part about Michael’s photobombs is that they seem genuinely thought-out. It’s like he saw this guy posing with two huge parrots and was like, “This is it. This is going to be the moment that makes me.” Classic.

6. Aaron Rodgers

I may be a bit biased, considering that I’m a Wisconsin girl, but Aaron Rodgers is honestly one of the funniest guys in the NFL at the moment. After each Sunday game, he makes it his mission to craft the perfect method for ruining the team captain photos. There’s even an entire blog dedicated to it. In the past, he’s dressed up as Santa, made a phone out of Gatorade cups and even dressed as what I can only assume was an obnoxious incarnation of Luigi. Superbowl, schmuperbowl. I’d pay to watch him do THIS all weekend.

5. Benedict Cumberbatch

When you think of Ben, your mind immediately goes to all the super cerebral, slightly neurotic leading men he’s played in the past: Stephen Hawking, Major Steward from War Horse and high-functioning sociopath, Sherlock. Women across the world swoon when he shows up looking all dapper in a fitted tuxedo at the Academy Awards. Because of this, you might not think he’s the biggest nerd in the entire universe, yet here he is, photobombing U2 because he can. Oh, Ben.

4. Tom Hanks

Okay, so technically this one isn’t a “photobomb”. I was heartbroken to learn that this picture was actually staged by the kid who looks to be passed out drunk. But come on, it’s TOM HANKS in a bar, posing like a frat bro. That’s reason enough to love him. You’re a gentleman and a scholar, sir.

3. Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm

This one needs absolutely zero explanation. Also, can we please get a reality show with these two just photobombing everyone in NYC? Please? Jon Hamm alone is one of the funniest guys in Hollywood. If you can renew the Kardashians for nine seasons, this should be a piece of cake.

2. Tina Fey

There are so many hilarious Tina Fey moments to chose from, it’s hard to narrow them down to just one. This moment at the 2012 Golden Globes stole our hearts. Both Tina and Amy Poehler had been nominated for an award in the same category and, as the camera panned over to Poehler, Tina stuck her head in the frame at the last second. It was one of the most talked about moments of the night and further proved that these funny ladies only get more hilarious with each passing year.

So who’s left? Who could possibly beat Miss Fey as the number one photobomber of all time?

1. Crasher Squirrel

He saw the opportunity and seized it with both paws. Instant celebrity. Carpe diem, right?
