Beyoncé’s all-gold ensemble is serving us Foxxy Cleopatra realness
Beyoncé isn’t the most avid Instagram user, but when she does post, we know it’s going to be good. Recently, the superstar has been sharing highly stylized looks, and let’s just say she came to slay. And Beyoncé’s most recent all-gold get-up is proof that all that glitters is Bey.
The artist shared photos of herself in a long-sleeved gold dress, replete with high slit and plunging neckline. She took the gold factor up a notch with thick-strapped metallic sandals and huge hoop earrings. We’re personally obsessing over this look because it feels like a throwback to one of her first acting gigs. Beyoncé made her big screen debut in Austin Powers in Goldmember, in which she played Foxxy Cleopatra. Need a refresher? “I’m a whollleee lot of woman.”
The best part about this look might just be that it makes us think about Beyoncé’s role in Goldmember, in which her character utters the line, “All I know is, mama only got a taste of honey and she wanted to the whole beehive.” Was that foreshadowing the fact that Beyoncé’s fans would go on to refer to themselves as — wait for it — the “Beyhive”?
