Today has been a historical day for our country. It’s International Women’s Day, but march organizers have also dubbed it A Day Without A Woman. Everyday people, politicians, activists, and celebrities alike are showing their support for women everywhere today, and it’s been a extraordinary thing to witness. Beyoncé posted her own little nugget of empowerment on her Instagram as well. It’s a short video showing her latest fashion adventures with Blue Ivy and a trip to see Beauty and the Beast.
We all know that Beyoncé and Jay Z are expecting twins this year, and her baby bump is growing by the minute. In her latest Instagram post, Beyoncé is wearing yet another gorgeous green dress that shows off her belly. A series of pictures pop up against the backdrop of Stevie Wonder’s classic hit “Sir Duke” and we’re in awe at the Queen’s glowing beauty.
There doesn’t need to be a caption or any words in the video — you can just tell Beyoncé is celebrating her body, her family, and her twins. Beyoncé adorned herself with big hoop earrings, gold rings and bracelets, and a green silky dress with a plunging neckline that’s embellished with what appears to be flowers. Because we’ve been seeing a lot of green in Beyoncé’s wardrobe lately, we feel like it’s time to take a deeper look into the meaning of this color.
Green is meant to represent harmony, growth, renewal, and rebirth. It's considered an emotionally positive color, so it's probably no coincidence that Beyoncé is wrapping herself in it whenever she gets the chance.
Even Blue Ivy was wearing a green (and pink) dress in the Insta post. Her hair was done in cute braids and they attended the Beauty and the Beast premiere looking happy as ever. Jay Z even tagged along and was dressed in a very cool, very low-key denim jacket.
