Whoa, it looks like Beyoncé is going to reprise this famous movie role
Good news! We’ll soon see Beyoncé perform on the silver screen! According to Page Six, Beyoncé is reportedly “on board” for the remake (of a remake of a remake) of A Star Is Born, directed by and co-starring Bradley Cooper. “Beyoncé is a go,” said “a source,” who added that Cooper is trying to cast another part or two before he settles into the director’s chair. “He’s out to find the rest of the cast, but he may take another acting role. He’s furiously making everything he can.” We’re glad to see that in Cooper’s frenzy he’s still making excellent casting choices. Because let’s be honest: Beyoncé will own whatever role he gives her.
In case you’re unfamiliar, A Star Is Born was first made in 1937 with Janet Gaynor and Frederick March, then 1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason and then again in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. There’s a reason the film has been remade so many times: the story is classic. A Star Is Born is the love story of a film star helping a young singer and actress find fame, even as aging and alcoholism negatively impacts his own career. Bradley Cooper and Beyoncé together? Talk about magnetism. Now we’re wondering just how soon is too soon to buy our tickets!
