Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj just gave us a power anthem for the rest of 2014

Make room for one more song on your power anthem playlist, folks.

Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj, two of pop’s most kickass females, have joined forces for a new track called “Feeling Mysel.f” Yeah well…we’re feeling you too, ladies.

As per usual, the song boasts a catchy beat and a chorus you can snap your fingers to. Aside from the song’s aesthetics, “Feeling Myself” is remarkable because of what it represents. Both Beyoncé and Nicki have solidified themselves as two of the most influential figures in music to date.

As Mic put it, “[Minaj] writes her own verses; Beyoncé cowrites and coproduces many of her own songs, and both run their own businesses expertly. They are what all female artists trying to enter pop or hip-hop should aspire to be”.

Speaking of which, Bey throws down some fiery verses. She even makes reference to her surprise album drop which, in her words, “stopped the world”:

Changed the game with that digital drop
Know where you was when that digital popped
I stopped the world
Male or female, it make no difference
I stop the world, world stop…
Carry on

We can agree with that sentiment.

“Feeling Myself” will be featured on Nicki’s forthcoming album The Pinkprint, which is due out next Tuesday. Check out the track below
