Beyoncé admitted that she’s struggled with fertility, and we’re so glad she spoke up about this
There’s a lot that people don’t tell you about pregnancy and fertility. For one, while it seems simple, it often isn’t. In fact, it’s often a nightmare to deal with. That’s why it’s so wonderful that Beyoncé continuously opens up about fertility and conception issues since it proves that they can affect anyone.
As you’ve probably heard, Beyoncé just announced earlier this month that she’s pregnant with twins. As expected, the world was overjoyed by the news. Because, well, Beyoncé and babies are both pretty popular and beloved topics.
After letting the cat out of the bag with a truly fun photo announcement, a source close to Queen Bey chatted with US Weekly to discuss the nitty gritty of the situation — and to explain that this pregnancy wasn’t an easy journey.
Beyoncé opened up about the issue before directly, in the HBO documentary Life Is But A Dream, so it’s definitely a topic she’s open to discussing.
"I envisioned what my child would look like," the singer admitted regarding a miscarriage that she had suffered before the birth of Blue Ivy.
Her way of coping was to write “the saddest song” she had ever written, which turned out to be pretty therapeutic.
"It was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I've ever been through," she continued.
By sharing her first story, the singer became instantly more relatable to so many of her fans.

"I felt like there were so many couples who go through that, and it was a big part of my story," Beyoncé revealed to Oprah about her decision to discuss her past pregnancy.
She also mentioned that when she was pregnant with Blue Ivy, she lived every month in fear — another big reality for many women.
In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that around 10% of all women have difficulty conceiving, and 6% are considered infertile, which is incredibly high.
The US Weekly article reports that Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z were allegedly thinking of giving up on the dream of having more children.
Whether or not the two were truly at that stage mentally, it’s definitely a tough decision that many have to come to terms with. People even reported that the famous couple had been trying for years.
That’s probably why she made sure to make her announcement big. Babies are huge news, but babies after months (or years) of unsuccessfully trying for babies tend to make you even more emotional. The memorable photo shoot was created by photographer Awol Erizku, and every little detail in the photo has left fans guessing.
For one, many are assuming she’s having a boy and a girl, based on her choice of fashionable underwear. Beyoncé, for now, is keeping that information under wraps. (And we don’t blame her. Her and Jay-Z should definitely have moments to cherish that don’t involve the media.)
No matter what, Beyoncé’s announcement definitely brings hope to many. You never know what may end up happening if you have the patience, determination, open-mindedness, and a dream.
