Betty White remembers Mary Tyler Moore in an impossibly sweet statement

So we’re still processing the news of Mary Tyler Moore’s passing, but it makes our hearts happy to know that her fellow actors in Hollywood are flooding the internet with thoughtful tributes and memories of their friend.

To end the week on a happy note, Betty White remembers Moore in a special statement in which she said she had some of the best times of her life with the icon.

These two legendary women worked together on The Mary Tyler Moore Show for many years and later on Hot in Cleveland (with other costars from TMTMS, including Valerie Harper, Cloris Leachman, and Georgia Engel). So they go way back. White’s Twitter post includes a pic of the two of them accompanied by their husbands at the time; Allen Ludden and Grant Tinker. The women especially are positively glowing!

Should we go ahead and watch Moore and White’s reunion?

She was special indeed, and we’re feeling the loss of such a spirited, impossibly talented actress who always thought out of the box and challenged others to do the same. Basically, a champion for women everywhere.

Clearly absolutely adored by her colleagues, Moore has left a legacy that is unlike anyone else we can think of. (And we’re so going to be binge-watching TMTMS for all the days in the foreseeable future.) These words cut straight to the core.

We’re lucky to have received Moore’s comedy gifts, and know that she’s inspired many generations of women to go out there and pursue their biggest dreams.
