Only the best Valentines would give you this envelope made of pie

Valentine’s Day is SO soon. If you have a special someone, chances are you’ll be receiving a sweet, lovey-dovey card describing a whole bunch of feelings on the big day. But even better than a card full of feelings is a Valentine’s Day pie envelope full of cherry filling.

Yup, that’s right — an envelope-shaped cherry pie!

Cards, flowers, chocolates and teddy bears are all sweet gifts to give your special someone on Cupid’s holiday. But a homemade pastry envelope is the most thoughtful gift of all. After all, dessert makes everything better.

Blogger Liz Bushong created the tiny Valentine’s masterpieces, and we’re obsessed. We secretly hope someone gives us one (or a dozen) on February 14th.

Let’s be real — it’s not a secret. We. Want. Pie.

If you want to make them for your person, here’s how they’re made:

Cut a Pillsbury Pie Crust into a square, add cherry pie filling (homemade or not, your call) and fold it into the shape of an envelope. The folding part may take a couple of tries to get it right, because we all know how Pinterest-type situations work out IRL. But the multiple attempts will so be worth it.

Once you have your cherry-filled envelope, sprinkle on some sugar and bake it on 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes. You can even cut out a heart with the extra dough and place it on the envelope to really seal the Valentine’s deal.

Even though they seem super professional/Martha Stewart-y, the directions are actually pretty simple.

May your Valentine’s Day be filled with lots of love and cherry pie.
