Here are the best Twitter reactions to Blake Shelton being named “People’s” Sexiest Man Alive

When it was announced that Blake Shelton was People‘s Sexiest Man Alive for 2017, a lot of people had thoughts. Shelton, for example, felt as if perhaps the magazine ran out of candidates. “Y’all must be running out of people,” he said to the magazine. “Like, Wow, we’re down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical.”

All jokes aside, we understand why Shelton was chosen. As a judge on NBC’s hit The Voice, a lot of fans have gotten to know a different side of the country star. Not only do they dig his competitive “bromance” with Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, but they like the fact that he’s notorious for often coaching the winner of the competitive reality show. Shelton just seems friendly and approachable — and getting to witness his real life relationship with Gwen Stefani, who inspired him to take the title, just helps that.

A lot of people take the Sexiest Man Alive honor pretty seriously. It all started back in 1989, when Mel Gibson was featured on the cover. Before Shelton, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was given the title —  and before him, back in 2015, David Beckham was featured on the cover for one of People‘s most anticipated issues.

So, you can imagine that those with a Twitter account had a few things to say about Shelton grabbing the title — many were positive, but others had some questions.

Here are a few of the best.

While the reaction is mixed, we like the fact that Shelton’s win is getting people talking. It proves that there’s no “one size fits all” when the word “sexy” is involved.
