The best lines From “Clueless” that should definitely make a comeback
If you grew up in the ’90s, you definitely know all of the lines from Clueless. In fact even if you didn’t grow up in that era, Clueless is SO famous that you should know at least one of its famous quotes. If you haven’t seen the 1995 flick, you’re seriously missing out!
More than 20 years later the cult classic and pop culture favorite is still popular and we totally get it. The style, the attitude and obviously the quotes will live on forever, so why aren’t we using more quotes from the film in our every day vocab? Here are the quotes that should be used in daily conversation way more often.
“I am totally butt crazy in love with Josh” – Cher. First of all, a young Paul Rudd (who played Josh) was the perfect leading man. Second, “butt crazy” is a phrase you NEED to use when talking about love, your wild BFF or anything you’re passionate about.
“You are a snob and a half” – Cher. For those times where someone is just a little bit more than a snob and you can’t help but call them out on it.
“Do you prefer fashion victim or ensembly challenged?” – Cher. Amber was SO ensembly challenged which led to her always stealing Cher’s style. We recommend using this phrase when someone is tragically unfashionable or makes a serious wardrobe faux pas.
“That was way harsh, Tai” – Cher. Ugh, when Tai called Cher a virgin who couldn’t drive it was both funny and sad. Actually it was way harsh!
“Oh my god, I am totally buggin’” – Cher. You’re buggin’, I’m buggin’, we’re all buggin’.
“OK, so he is kind of a Baldwin” – Cher. The blonde beauty described Josh as a Baldwin and we love it. We’d swap out “Baldwin” for Gosling, but can use any hunky Hollywood heartthrob.
“No, she’s a full-on Monet. It’s like a painting, see? From far away, it’s OK, but up close, it’s a big old mess” – Cher. Life goal: Don’t be a Monet!
“You’re a virgin who can’t drive” – Tai. Yes, we already talked about using Cher’s reaction to this situation in our vocabulary, but Tai’s iconic line about a virgin who can’t drive is too good not to sprinkle into random conversations. Use it whenever you see fit, your friends will love it.
“I was surfing the crimson wave” – Cher. Okay, so maybe we wouldn’t use this every day, but it is a quirky way to talk about your period and not be embarrassed.
“Rollin’ with the homies”- Tai. Sing it loud, sing it proud.
“I feel like such a bonehead” – Cher. Poor Cher, she’s such a bonehead. At least she got a new BFF out of her bonehead attempt at hitting on Christian.
“Whatever” – Amber. To take it to the next level try saying this word while holding up a “w” sign with your hands. You know what we’re talking about.
“Where’s my white collarless shirt from Fred Segal? It’s my most capable looking outfit!” – Cher. Everyone needs a capable looking outfit, so why not talk about it, too?
“Ugh, as if!” – Cher. Do we even need to explain why this is a must?
