This is what Ben Affleck had to say about his upcoming solo Batman film
Ben Affleck has transformed himself many times throughout his career. He’s proven to be super talented both in front of and behind the camera. So when we saw him play Bruce Wayne/Batman for the first time in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it was no surprise he totally owned that infamous role.
Now, Ben Affleck has opened up about his upcoming Batman solo movie and how he is approaching the daunting task of writing, directing, producing ~and~ starring in it.
It’s one thing to carry the film with one of those roles. It’s a whole new level when you’re basically doing everything for a movie. And, TBH, we are seriously impressed.
The Batman, the working title for the film, is still in the pre-production phases. Production is supposedly set to begin spring of next year. But Affleck has made it clear he will take whatever time he needs to make sure this film is great.
As he discussed in an interview with EW, he’s not a fan of putting a production timeline above the needs of a film.
Affleck said, "I'm not going to write and direct anything that I don't think is good enough to be made. I'm definitely going to make sure I have something that is special – there's not enough money in the world to make a mediocre version of Batman worth it."
He’s shown time and time again that he can create fascinating and quality movies.
The other actors involved in the upcoming movie are also looking forward to seeing what Affleck’s talented mind creates.
As Jeremy Irons (aka Alfred) told CinemaBlend,"I have spoken to Ben. In Justice League, we have seen superheroes, and that means Alfred's not that busy in the movie, and I said to Ben, 'I hope I'm busier in yours." And he said to me, 'You will be.' He knows my proclivities."
We can’t wait to see what magic the awesome entertainer spins up for us in this new movie. Because if Ben Affleck says it’s going to be good, we totally trust that it’s going to be good.
