Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are divorcing: Hearts = Broken

Earlier today, actors Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced via a joint statement with People Magazine that they have decided to split up.

“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they told People.

“We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time,” they continued. “This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”

The couple first met on the set of their 2003 film, Daredevil, and began officially dating soon after. They celebrated their 10-year anniversary on Monday, and the two have three children together: Violet (9), Seraphina (6), and Samuel (3). For the past few months, the couple has been hounded by the media over rumors of their alleged split — and we’re glad Affleck and Garner got to formally announce the decision on their own terms.

Our hearts go out to Affleck, Garner, and their children during this difficult time. We wish them all the best and nothing but happiness.
