We relate super hard to Bella Thorne’s acne struggles
Bella Thorne says it like it is, and we appreciate that a lot. In most things, she seems pretty straightforward and upfront. And now she’s speaking up about her battles with acne. As the new face for the new acne line from Bioré Skincare, the 19-year-old isn’t hiding anything when it comes to this issues that affects most teens.
“I’ve struggled with my acne a lot, I always post it on my Snapchat,” she told PeopleStyle. “But I’m excited about this partnership. I hope I help somebody out there because I’m spreading the word.”
Thorne admitted earlier this year that she has dealt with dermatitis in the past, for which she took Accutane.
And since she works in the public eye and is very active on social media, the actor and singer also has to deal with public scrutiny, and Internet trolls slamming her complexion.
“[Not only do] you look in the mirror and you don’t like what you see, but everybody looks at you and they judge you on your skin,” she said.
“I’ve had a lot of people just say to me, ‘Why don’t you just wash your face?’ and I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me right now?!’”
Luckily, she’s got a great support group of family and friends who remind her of the many reasons she has to feel confident and worthy of all the love in the world.
“[Having acne] really stresses me out, but my sister Dani always reminds me, ‘It’s okay!’ She always cheers me up when I see it so that I don’t immediately think negative thoughts,” she said.
