Bella Thorne has a genius hack for hiding her acne

Given that she has several movies coming up, a staggering 18 million Instagram followers, and a slew of other projects on her plate, it’s easy to forget that Bella Thorne is just like any other 21-year-old. But she struggles with normal-people problems, including acne—and she talks about her skin openly, even encouraging others to embrace their “imperfections.”
While acne is 100% normal and most of us have dealt with at some point in our lives, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to cover it up once in a while. And our girl Thorne just introduced us to a genius concealer hack.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the Famous in Love star revealed that she uses a makeup pencil to intensify the freckles and beauty marks on her face.
"This is one of the ways she deals with her acne, highlighting her freckles to distract from the blemishes on her face," interviewer Amy Kaufman wrote as she observed the star's makeup routine.
Like we said: genius (and easy).
In the interview, Thorne noted that tabloids tend to zoom in on her skin, often making unfounded assumptions about her life because of it.
“The Daily Mail will be like, ‘Bella must have been out partying last night’ because they got a photo of me not wearing makeup with acne, she said. “They’re like, ‘She looks really tired out. Maybe the drugs are really wearing on her skin.’ I get so mad. So are you telling every kid with cystic acne that they must be a heroin addict?
This constant media scrutiny and speculation is unfair and invasive, but we’re thanking Thorne for her brilliant makeup tip and for helping to normalizing acne for the rest of us.
You can currently see Bella Thorne in the spooky horror film I Still See You in theaters and On Demand now.
