According to Elle, SplashNews captured some images of The Weeknd exiting his former girlfriend’s apartment. But before you run out and get a “Bella <3 Abel” tattoo on your bicep, let’s take a second to evaluate. This could mean anything — maybe they are still friends! Maybe he was returning a sweater of hers he found in a drawer! Maybe he just needed some emotional support!

However, the probability that this was just a casual meeting between friends hasn’t stopped the internet from running wild with theories. Anonymous sources reportedly told In Touch that The Weeknd is “texting and calling his ex Bella Hadid ‘nonstop.’” The publication also reported that “she’s been ignoring him, the source says, because she’s happy with new beau Drake.” But a possible Hadid/Drake romance is also just a rumor at this point. In October, Life & Style reported that sources alleged the duo have been engaged in a secret romance for several months. Neither celebrity has confirmed this first-hand, though.
