Go behind the scenes as Lady Gaga prepares for the Super Bowl halftime show
It’s only a few weeks until the Super Bowl, which means it’s only a few weeks until Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime show! And now the singer is giving you a behind the scenes look as she prepares for the show.
While she might already be at work on new music, it seems that Lady Gaga’s main priority at the moment is the Super Bowl halftime show. Indeed, the star is so dedicated that she’s even built a tent in her backyard so that she can give the performance her undivided attention. We can totally imagine Gaga waking up in the middle of the night, heading to her tent, and dancing to “Bad Romance.”
However, now Lady Gaga has given us a sneak peak into the behind the scenes process of putting on one of the biggest shows in the world.
In a video shared by Pepsi, the sponsors of the halftime show, Gaga recounts just exactly how long she’s been planning the Super Bowl show, and it’s longer than you might think.
"I've been planning this since I was 4, so I know exactly what I'm going to do," she says in the clip. "For me, it's all about giving to the fans and bringing people together that wouldn't normally come together. The thing is, it's such a big world stage in terms of how many people see it and it's been done so many times."
While we can’t imagine the pressure that she must be feeling, we’re pretty sure that someone as dedicated and as talented as Gaga is totally going to pull the whole thing off.
The behind the scenes video also gives us a glimpse at the dancers and choreography, with the choreographer Richy Jackson teasing that the singer’s hit “Bad Romance” will definitely feature in the 12 minute performance. We even get a peak at the number being rehearsed! false
Jackson reveals that the dancers have been handpicked by Gaga and himself from the people they’ve worked with over her 10 year career, and that the whole experience is going to be like“one big reunion.”
"I think the challenge is to look at it and say, 'What can I do differently? How can I elevate certain little things here and there, and also make it about the music?'" Gaga says in the clip. "This is where I'm supposed to be."
According to a report in Page Six, this elevation and different halftime show will allegedly see Gaga on the roof of the NRG Stadium’s dome in Houston, with the singer “cutting a hole” in the stadium’s state-of-the-art, see-through, retractable “fabric roof.” Meanwhile, reps from the NFL have denied that they’ve asked Gaga to keep controversies to a minimum during the performance by avoiding discussion president-elect Trump and the election, calling the reports “nonsense?”
“The Super Bowl is a time when people really come together,” the NFL’s statement says. “Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans and we love working with her on it; we aren’t going to be distracted by this.”
Regardless of rumors of controversies, from the behind the scenes video we can tell that Lady Gaga’s performance is going to be one to remember, and we’re absolutely sure that she’ll completely OWN the stage.
