We’re always on the hunt for the next big nail art trend, and while we love a chic minimal manicure as much as the next person, sometimes more really is more. Especially when it’s the end of January and you’re looking for a little pick-me-up. Enter: tie-dye nails.

The trend, which even popped up on manicurist Park Eunkyung’s Instagram page (aka @nail_unistella) this week, is the perfect way to incorporate a little pop of color into your look in a way that’s subtle but also not at all.

The best thing about tie-dye nails is that they can be recreated using any color combination, really. Tie-dye is as versatile as it was back in the ’90s, when we wore the trend to death.

Whether you’re into using bright primary shades or pretty pastels, tie-dye nail art is totally adjustable to whatever color combo you’re into.

You can see how the look is achieved in the video below, and while it doesn’t look like the fastest manicure in the world, keep in mind that there’s lots of room for error, since it doesn’t need to be precise or perfect.

This is a nail art trend we can totally get on board with.
