Between whipping out our winter wardrobes, drinking copious amounts of hot chocolate, and getting in a snow walk or two, we are in love with the colder months. But we don’t exactly love what it does to our skin (hello dryness!). But don’t worry — we have you covered with 7 DIY green tea masks that will help you recover from the winter season (and honestly are awesome year-round)!

Green tea has long been a DIY trick that beauty novices use in their skin care routines. Not only are there many studies that show the benefits of green tea in fighting skin cancer and sun damage, but studies also show that green tea is filled with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. This means that using it in conjunction with acne fighting products could help slow down breakouts and aging. Um, yes please!

1 Green Tea Face Scrub

Not only will you be able to brighten your skin with this DIY mask, but it also doubles as an exfoliant. Who doesn’t love a dual purpose product?

2 Matcha Green Tea Face Mask

If you haven’t heard of Matcha, no worries. It’s in the green tea family and is known to have a variety of healthy benefits. This recipe consists of Matcha green tea, honey, and cinnamon.

3 Green Tea Facial Toner/Mask

It’s starting to feel like store-bought sheet masks are everywhere…but they’re not necessarily budget-friendly. So this recipe is great for someone who wants the luxury of a mask without the high cost. All you have to do is boil some water, steep the green tea, and grab some plane sheets in bulk at your local drugstore.

4 Egg White and Green Tea Mask

Not only can you have your eggs, but you can mask them too! This mask supposedly helps your face build collagen, but you’ll also get a bit of Vitamin E as well (which is great for diminishing acne, healing hyper-pigmentation, and shrinking pores).

5 Coffee, Green Tea, and Orange Juice Face Mask

This recipe sounds like the making of a great brunch, right?!  It uses coffee — which you may think could dehydrate your face — but it is actually perfect for calming inflammation. And the orange juice supposedly brightens skin and helps with exfoliation.

6 Green Tea and Yogurt Mask

Matcha green tea powder, honey, and plain yogurt? This recipe sounds good enough to eat! It nourishes the skin while preventing acne and reducing hyper-pigmentation scars. And not only will the yogurt be cooling on your face, but it’s gel-like consistency will allow you to multitask while you let this mask seep into your pores.

7 Lemon Green Tea and Honey mask

Lemon is apparently helpful for giving your skin a glowing look. So if glow is what you’re after, this one just might be for you.

Whether you’re looking for a quick face mask, a fun DIY project, or something to add into your weekly skin care routine, all of the above should help. Let us know which ones are your favorites, and feel free to share some of your own!
