As Halloween slowly creeps closer, we know you’ve been spending countless hours searching the interwebs for seasonal ideas and inspo (well, we know we have…). And nothing is as subtly fun and festive (and wallet-friendly) as DIY Halloween nail art. Whether you plan on going all out with your costume this year and want nails to up the ante, or you hate dressing up but just want some seasonal flair, a mani is your answer.

And the best part? You don’t even have to spend a hundred plus dollars to get the intricate designs of your favorite horror flicks or some creepy blood splatter, because there are so many great DIY Halloween nail tutorials out there.

And here are 10 to get you started.

(Note: While all of the below are technically possible to do alone, we find that it’s always helpful to have a friend help out— especially for the more intricate designs when using your non-dominant hand. So we recommend calling up a bestie and having yourselves a mini nail-decorating party!).

1Black Matte with Googly Eyes

Be careful of all things that go bump in the night — except for these adorably spooky googly eyes. The matte black base of this manicure perfectly imitates a dark room and gives the eyes an extra pop.

2Simple Monsters

This tutorial is great because it teaches you several relatively simply monster-inspired designs. Mix and match the monsters, or just pick the one monster you like best and run with it for all 10 nails.

3A Spooky Mixture of Skulls, Aliens, and Candy Corn

If you can’t decide on just one Halloween design, why not create one on each nail? It’s quite possibly the reason nature gave us 10 fingers — 10 different nail design options. This tutorial will help you create quick and easy skulls, aliens, and candy corns.

4Bloody Pennywise from Stephen King’s “It”

Stephen King’s It tells the story of a blood-thirsty clown by the name of Pennywise, who sustains himself by terrorizing a small town in Maine. Pennywise is predicted to be the number one costume of 2017, so why not go all out and match your nails to your costume? Pennywise all ‘round.

5Nightmare Before Christmas Nail” Art

We love anything and everything Jack Skellington and this Nightmare Before Christmas nail design is no exception.

6Sister Witches on the Full Moon

Yes, these are technically Halloween designs but we’d totally wear these every day. From the gorgeous full moon and stars to the delicate silhouettes of witches on their trusty brooms flying across the sky — we love it all.

7Bride of Chucky”- Inspired Nail Art

Chucky and his bride Tiffany could have been all sorts of #relationshipgoals. You know, minus the killing, and the dying, and the demonic resurrection parts.

8The Walking Dead” Zombie Nails

These “The Walking Dead” inspired zombie nails are so realistic it’s genuinely disturbing.

9Simple Blood Splatter Nails

If you want to keep it simple but still rock a killer Halloween nail design then these blood splatter nails are your best bet!

Have a safe and happy Halloween, everyone!
