It’s yet another example of how the pop star is really coming into her own in a manner MOST exciting and doing a ton to make us girls feel great just the way we are. Check out some of the highlights of this interview, which seriously made us appreciate Miley on a brand new level.
Beauty advice for her 16-year-old self:
“. . . Less is more. Chill. I think when you’re younger you try to make yourself look older and I got to tell you, you’re going to regret it as you get older. I wear less makeup now at 22 than I did when I was 15 or 16.”
On being intimidated by Instagram glamour shots:
“A lot of girls are chasing girls that don’t exist. It’s a reality that isn’t real. Because people fine-tune [their pictures] and going out is a fashion show and that’s just not reality. . . people are humans and people forget that even the people on Instagram are human.”
Turning her back on conventional standards of beauty:
“I think of the formula of what’s supposed to be ‘pretty’ and what a woman is supposed to be is something I think I accepted more when I was younger, and now that I’m older I think ‘Forget that. Like, I don’t want to be like that.’ ”
