There’s a movement happening right now and it’s long overdue. Makeup brands are embracing diversity and extending their color ranges. It’s about time, right? For everyone who’s fallen between shades or had to buy two colors and mix them together every single day, this is for us! (Editor’s note: I screamed that with “This is Sparta!” levels of fury.) Makeup Forever is adding more brown shades to their Ultra HD concealer. They just earned four sets of brown holy hands emojis, two queens, and six chocolate bars after teasing their new concealers, which is set to hit stores in January.

Makeup Forever’s Ultra HD concealers are long-lasting, hydrating, and will run you 27 bucks a pop. They’re definitely worth swatching on your next Sephora run.

We’re excited to see all of Makeup Forever’s new shades featured on gorgeous women of color. If you scroll through the brand’s Instagram account, you’ll see many different models wearing the Ultra HD foundation, which comes in 40 shades. YAAAAS!

Other brands are following suit by bringing more diversity to their products. Kat Von D recently added 13 new shades to her Lock It foundation line, Anastasia Beverly Hills expanded their stick foundation collection, NARS added more concealer shades, and Topshop just launched a brown girl-friendly cushion foundation.

CoverGirl is also killing it with their newest ambassadors: Muslim beauty blogger Nura Afia and their first ever male model James Charles. While most makeup brands are finally starting to get it, there are some beauty brands that could use more inclusivity. I won’t mention any names, but I hope they embrace diversity now that other brands are taking the lead.

In other words: Listen up, beauty makers, we won’t settle for anything less than a perfect match, a highlighting shade, a contour shade, a setting powder that doesn’t make us look ashy, and blushes that mimic our flush. We need options with warm and cool undertones (yes, brown skin has undertones) and we won’t stop until we get it!
