Kristen Stewart's beauty and style evolution, from moody teen to Chanel's red carpet queen
At only 29 years old (as of today! HBD, KStew!) Kristen Stewart is a bonafide style icon. Stewart began acting at nine years old and had her first breakout role in 2002’s Panic Room. But as we all know, the role that shot her into superstardom was Bella Swan in the Twilight series. By the time the movies wrapped in 2012, Stewart was officially one of the highest-paid actresses in the world.
Through the years, we’ve had the pleasure of watching Stewart grow in a major way, not just on the big screen but on the red carpet, too. And while we still love the days of old KStew, attending star-studded events in Converse sneakers, we’re equally as obsessed with current Chanel-era Kristen Stewart. (The actress is a spokesmodel for the brand and was a longtime muse of Karl Lagerfeld.)
Below, we take a Converse-clad walk down memory lane and look back at Kristen Stewart’s style and beauty evolution.
A black minidress and messy hair is how we came to know and love Kristen Stewart.
Love the bold print and side-swept ‘do.
The red carpet Chuck Taylors? Honestly iconic.
A rare (and surprising!) princess silhouette that we adored.
One of our all-time fave red carpet looks. We can’t get enough of the mismatched metallics and messy ponytail.
The start of ultra-glam KStew, featuring a gorgeous gown, bright red lip, and Old Hollywood waves.
Forever obsessed with this crop top and neon moment.
Featuring new red hair, Kristen Stewart’s shockingly demure and classic Oscars look was a winner.
Photographed here at Haute Couture Week, this is the beginning of the KStew of today—decked out in chic black and white Chanel.
Settling comfortably into her role of fashion icon at the 2014 Met Gala.
Stewart looked cute and casual in a low-cut floral romper.
We live for this short, slicked-back ‘do.
Possibly KStew’s chicest moment ever—a platinum blonde bob, sleek, all-white look, and animal print stilettos.
Love this monochromatic look (note the lipstick), which we assumed is secretly accessorized with a ton of double-sided tape.
Still swooning over this glam gown and buzz cut moment, tbh.
It’s always refreshing to see Stewart in bright shades and prints, especially when that chic haircut is involved.
KStew doesn’t wear pants on the red carpet often, usually opting for miniskirts and dresses, but when she does, she makes sure to impress.
Thigh-highs and a leather jacket = modern The Runaways vibes. (Stewart portrayed Joan Jett in the 2010 band biopic.)
Only KStew can rock a devilock hairdo and look this glam.
We’re not sure what we love more, the graphic dress or the bright eye and lip makeup.
Take a deep breath and enjoy this brightly colored winged eyeliner and blonde pompadour. We stan.
A perfect quilted Chanel jumpsuit. What, you don’t own one?
