I can usually tell within three chapters whether or not I’m going to enjoy a book. If I have to force myself to keep the pages turning after chapter four, it’s not a good sign. On the flipside, when I get hooked on a story, it happens quickly and I can just enjoy the ride. Trinkets hooked me within the first few pages. I just needed a handful of words tied together by the marvelous Kirsten Smith (writer of Legally Blonde and 10 Things I Hate About You) and I was IN IT. Especially with the unique and fascinating way she’s able to tell the story from multiple perspectives.
Trinkets tells the story of Tabitha, Elodie, and Moe: a beauty queen, a wallflower, and a burnout, and the friendship that stems from their shared thrill-seeking love of shoplifting. They all have different reasons for doing it, and when Tabitha challenges Elodie and Moe to a steal off, their hilariously heartfelt adventure begins.
