Here's how to get a ponytail as perfect as Oprah's
Let’s get real: If the United States wanted to elect a billionaire TV star as president, why the hell wasn’t it Oprah?! The two-time Oscar-nominated actress steered her own way to stardom, building her multi-media empire from the ground up and inspiring a whole generation of content creators and movers and shakers. Plus, she has waaay better hair — as demonstrated by what might be the most perfect, Oprah-approved ponytail we’ve ever seen!
Oprah rocked the smooth ‘do at a recent screening of her new HBO film, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks — which airs Saturday night! — at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.
Standing beside a portrait of the real-life woman on whom the film is based, Oprah introduced the surviving members of Lacks’ family.
So, how can you pull of Oprah’s polished pony? According to Canada’s Fashion magazine, all you need are a light hairspray, a paddle brush, and you’re good to go!
Now that you and Oprah are twinning, borrow your parents’ HBO Go pass and invite your pals over to watch The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Oprah stars as Henrietta’s daughter, Deborah Lacks, whose mother unknowingly revolutionized modern medicine in 1951, when researchers removed cancerous tissue from Henrietta’s cervix (without her consent) and developed a line of immortal cells called HeLa cells. Henrietta’s singular biological contribution led to decades of medical advancements, facilitating the development of treatments for polio, Parkinson’s, leukemia, and more.
Rad projects AND a perfect pony? Oprah 2020!
