Color Camp is the new L.A. nail art destination you need to know about
Whenever I get nail art, I feel like a little kid going to get an ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles and a cherry on top. I get giddy.
So when I walked into Color Camp, a new nail art salon on Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles (right in my neighborhood!), I immediately got that kid in a frozen yogurt shop feeling. As soon as I entered the super cool, minimalistic space I was offered a La Croix. Off to an amazing start.
Color Camp is an ultra-hip manicure bar that offers everything under the sun, including a classic plain polish manicure to a “super gel” manicure with intricate nail art. Basically, the whole experience is truly customizable, so you can choose a manicure based on whatever color your internal mood ring happens to be.
First you choose your base: polish ($20, lasts 3-5 days), gel ($40, lasts 1-2 weeks) or the extra durable super gel ($50, lasts 2-3 weeks).
After you’ve chosen your desired flavor (err, base), you can choose the toppings (I mean, nail art). Choose from designs like half moon or ombre, and then add on some pizazz in the form of studs, gems, foil, and more.
There are also seasonal looks you can choose from. I chose one from this menu: tiny little flowers that the nail artist carefully places in a custom design on your nails. I chose a pale pink base with a combo of red, pink, and yellow flowers.
What I love about Color Camp is that the designs offered are so unique. They have the standard geometric designs, yes, but then they have these awesome seasonal offerings, like the delicate dried flowers I got or the mermaid manicure with pearls and a 3D shell design (I’m definitely getting that one next time, btw).
L.A. was desperately in need of a fab new manicure bar, and I’m so glad Color Camp opened in my neighborhood (of all places)! L.A. nail art babes take note; this is your new go-to spot.
